Record your electric guitar at home

Thanks to everyone who came to the opening of the Curiosity Lab. We made a lot of guitars, drums, and played with Eric Singer’s Musical Robots. On that day we used a software to record and listen to the electric guitars on a laptop. The software is called Audacity.

Audacity® is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems. Audacity can be downloaded here http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ . Audacity was started by Dominic Mazzoni and Roger Dannenberg in the fall of 1999 at Carnegie Mellon University. It was released as open-source software at SourceForge.net in May of 2000.

If you missed making an electric guitar or would like to make another musical instrument, then join us on September 18th. We will be making electric guitars and experimenting with sounds and noise.
